3.25" x 2" Glass Block Paperweight
Tellskapelle am Vierwaldstättersee
Lake Lucerne Switzerland ca. 1910
This small thick paperweight is shaped like a glass bar of soap! It measures 3.25 inches by 2 inches, and is 3/4 of an inch thick. The image shows a color version of the "Tellskapelle am Vierwaldstättersee" at Lake Lucerne, Switzerland. It is a small chapel on Lake Lucerne with frescoes depicting heroic scenes from the life of William Tell. The tall Alps mountains in the background are snow and glacier covered, and the large ship in the lake flies a Swiss flag.
The paperweight is in very good condition, with very few scratches, and no scuffs, gouges, cracks, or chips. There is a spot of sticky residue from a price tag on the front (I would have cleaned it, but I didn't want to risk scratching the surface).
The Tellskapelle is located on the Tellsplatte or Tellenplatte on the shore of Lake Lucerne at the foot of the Axenberg cliffs, in the Sisikon municipality, canton of Uri, Switzerland. It is across the Bay of Uri from the Rütli, some 4.3 km away. (Wikipedia)
