Tiered Dessert Stand,
Hand-Painted Flowers, Gold Trim
A lovely two-tiered serving stand or platter, made by the Moritz Zdekauer Porcelain Factory (M Z Austria). This lovely antique platter is decorated with hand-painted pink and blue enameled flowers, tan borders and center, and thick gold trim and bands in an Art Nouveau design.
The plate measures 10 inches wide across the middle (5 inches wide across the raised portion, which is 2 inches high. There is very little wear to the decoration or gold trim. I can find one small flake on the glaze of a blue flower, and no other chips, cracks, crazing, and almost no wear to the gold trim.
The bottom has a dark green mark for"M Z Austria." There is also an impressed number 13. According to the Kovels' website, "MZ Austria is a mark used by Moritz Zdekauer on porcelains made at his Altrolau, Austria, works from 1884 to 1909."
