6-ounce Sugar & Creamer
White Sand Glaze, Sapulpa Clay
This richly glazed set from Frankoma has a wonderful glaze that I believe is White Sand, in the "Plainsman" shape. The sugar bowl with flared handles is marked 5DB, and the creamer is marked 5DA. The clay appears to be the later red Sapulpa variety. Given the shape, glaze, and clay, I believe this vintage Plainsman sugar bowl and creamer would date to the 1970s.
Both pieces are in very good condition. There are no flaws or wear that I can see, other than a couple of bumps that are original to manufacture. The sugar bowl measures 3.25 inches high at the rim, 2.5 inches wide across the open rim, and 3.75 inches wide across the handles. The creamer is 3.25 inches igh at the spout, 4-3/8 inches wide from spout tip to handle end, and 2.25 inches wide across the open rim.
The bottom of both pieces has an incised under-glaze Frankoma mark, with the shape nubers 5DA and 5DB.
