"King of the Golden River"
7.25" x 5" Booklet, 36 pages, ca. 1900
This listing is for a very neat older booklet written by John Ruskin, titled "King of the Golden River," or The Black Brothers: A Legend of Stiria. The elegant little booklet was published around 1900 (I think, based on online searches). It has a wonderful cover, with gold and blue embossed flowers framing the title box, on an ivory embossed binding.
The 36-page book measures 7.25 inches by 5" wide. It is in good condition. There is a bit of wear to the cover, most visible on the binding (spine -- see closeup photo at an angle); there are a few blemishes around the edges of the cover as well. The inside pages are very intact and clean. The cover has some separation from the pages, but is still attached.
The publisher was Thomas Y. Crowell & Company of New York.
Please note that some of the pictures were taken with flash, others were in natural light, which is why the piece may look lighter or darker or have white spots in the photos.
